Junior Graduate Unity Programmer (permanent, in-studio, south-coast, UK)

Freejam (https://freejamgames.com/), developers of the online multiplayer game Robocraft (http://robocraftgame.com), is now looking for a Junior Graduate C# Programmers to join our growing team to build the long-awaited sequel Robocraft 2 (https://www.robocraft2.com/). Robocraft 2 is developed using cutting-edge technologies, including Unity DOTS and Havok Physics. This is a full-time, permanent, in-studio role based in Portsmouth, UK.

Responsibilities

• Development of gameplay features for Robocraft 2, including user interface and user feedback associated with those features
• Programming in a DOTS \ ECS coding paradigm
• Doing peer code reviews with colleagues to gain a wider knowledge of the code base and to improve coding standards over time
• Working closely with designers, artists and QA to develop and polish features
• Debugging and bug-fixing issues raised by the community and QA

Requirements

• Strong demonstrable knowledge of C# and Unity.
• Demos of previous work \ projects in Unity, clearly indicating parts that you have contributed towards if they are team projects.
• Ideally some experience in the industry, but we will consider talented graduate programmers for this position also.
• Strong maths and a bonus if you have some knowledge of physics, classical or within games development.
• Some knowledge or experience with DOTS or ECS frameworks is a huge bonus.
• Knowledge of C++ is also a bonus
• Respect deadlines and be a team player.
• Proactive and able to prioritize tasks and manage your time effectively.
• You must be friendly, no ego, open to other opinions, but also confident in your own ability and skills. How you integrate as a person within the team will be critical to your success within the role.
