Logistics Specialist

We need someone to take responsibility for the day-to-day short term planning, inventory management and logistics scheduling. The role will be varied and interesting and whilst they are a global organisation, they promote an entrepreneurial ethos within the team.

Short term planning

• Understand changes in customer demand & model the impact to our supply/demand plan
• Align with global planning team on global supply/demand
• Manage current tank inventory levels & inventory projections at 3rd party storage sites (oversee tank levels & modify inbound/outbound plans as needed to manage tank levels)
• Send forecast of production requirements to manufacturing site
• Create purchase orders for material being bought from the manufacturing site
• Send external supplier forecast & agree on delivery mode (a split of railcar & barge)
• Tactical/executional responsibilitiesTracking daily production rates at manufacturing site

Create stock transfer orders from manufacturing sites to 3rd party storage
Create subcontracting PO’s for ‘repacking’ material
Communicate with logistics providers & 3rd party storage on inbound and outbound vessels & barges

Logistics scheduling

• Organize the dispatch plan from manufacturing sites and 3rd party storage
• Communicating outbound shipments from manufacturing sites and 3rd party storage to carriers (scheduling logistics)
• Planning outbound shipments in SAP Transport management module
• Requesting our customs broker to export clear / import clear shipments

Logistics Inventory management

• Daily processing of inbound material produced at manufacturing site (execution in SAP)
• Daily processing of outbound deliveries from manufacturing site (execution in SAP)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £30,000.00-£34,000.00 per year
