Position Overview & Specifications

We are looking for healthcare professionals who understand the changing services of pathology and represent the service going forward.
The role involves weekday and weekend working. All phlebotomy staff are required to participate in the cover of bank holidays on a rota basis. Flexible working to cover short notice absence will be a huge advantage. Working pattern for this post will be as follows:
- Week 1-Mon 0745-1300, Tues 0745-1315, Weds OFF, Thurs OFF, Fri 0745-1200, Sat-0730-11, Sun 0730-1100
- Week 2- Mon 0745-1300, Tues 0745-1200, Weds OFF, Thurs 0745-1200, Fri 0745-1200, Sat OFF, Sun OFF.
- Work every other weekend
- Work in the hospital ward environment with patients who may be severely debilitated
- Adhere strictly to established protocols and trust policies
- Have excellent work attendance and good time-keeping
- Provide a caring and professional service for users
- Collect blood samples directly from patients by venepuncture
- Accurate identification of patient and labelling of samples
- Maintain records in relation to activities carried
- Communication with all patients of varying needs
