Position Overview & Specifications
Our aim is to deliver a patient focused care that provides patients with an opportunity to better understand the crisis or behaviour that resulted in their admission and to learn coping skills to reduce the risk of relapse.
As a Band 4, you will assist in the provision of outstanding recovery focused care as part of the nursing team and wider multi-disciplinary team.
Be able to engage with patients in creative ways to alleviate boredom and also help develop their skills to live independently once discharged.
Our expectation is that you will be a highly motivated and dynamic team member; who is able to demonstrate quality therapeutic interactions with service users who require good support for their high dependency and complex needs. You are also expected to be working within the recovery model aims to help people with mental health problems to look beyond mere survival and existence. Supporting and encouraging clients move forward, set new goals and do things and develop relationships that give their lives meaning. You will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to offer recovery focused individual and group work with service users.
Promoting a safe environment of care that safeguards and protects service users and staff against undue risk.
Facilitating a positive role for service users where open communication and opportunities for learning and decision-making are promoted.
Ensuring equality and diversity values underpin the day to day working of the practice area.
Maintaining accurate and timely records.
Liaise with other agencies and health professionals as related to the goals of the care plan.
Take an active part in ensuring the service user maintains the highest level of independence possible, protect the service user’s level of dignity and privacy and empower the service user within the constraints of being an employee of the Trust and the legal constraints that may be placed on the service user.
