Position Overview & Specifications
Start date: Immediate (flexible depending on candidate)

Review data produced from our network of sensors, and identify any anomalies and areas for improvement.
- Create metrics for our modelled data products in terms of quality, and monitor performance of this product.
- Develop and implement new algorithms to improve air quality measurements from Zephyrs.
- Review all global measurements where reference-grade measurements are available for direct comparison.
- Oversee and manage testing of new algorithms against reference instrumentation.
- Strong grasp of analytical techniques including error analysis and linear and non-linear fitting routines.
- Highly numerate, and able to consider a wide range of statistical and analytical tools in order to optimise data quality in a varied and statistically noisy environment.
- Ability to use APIs to gather data into a bespoke analytical environment, and create automated methodologies to assess and audit data quality.
- Ability to communicate findings effectively within a fast-paced team environment, and propose improvements to operational systems.
- Ability to manage code and data within a structured operational environment (eg. GitHub), and work with colleagues to implement robust peer review of outputs.
- Excellent skills within Office 365, including the use of Excel to quickly review and present datasets.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++/C# or python.
- SQL and similar database methodologies for effective analytics.
- “Big Data” techniques including use of cloud computing methodologies to review large volumes of dynamically-created data.
- Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence techniques to derive, highlight and statistically characterise patterns in data.
- Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in a numerate discipline (Maths, Computer Science, Natural Sciences).
- Atmospheric science knowledge, ideally including air quality.
- Articulate and able to create professional customer-facing material.
