Position Overview & Specifications

Job description

We are offering newly qualified, or soon to be qualified, social workers, the opportunity to join our Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme. We are offering places across Adult Social care.

Our social workers are part of highly committed teams in a demanding but stimulating environment where you will have the opportunity to fulfil your potential. We will provide high quality supervision and support with a protected caseload during your ASYE together with access to a range of in-house training and development opportunities including our established and highly valued ASYE programme.

If you are shortlisted and invited to interview, you will need to provide evidence of your Social Work England registration or have written confirmation from your university that you are on track to qualify this summer.

This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.

Ealing council is committed to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults and expects all staff to share this commitment. Ealing follows safer recruitment practices to protect children and vulnerable adults.

These roles will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and Ealing Council’s enhanced vetting process.

In recognition that candidates will not be able to register with Social Work England on completion of their academic course, in order to commence their employment as a NQSW, successful candidates will be offered an interim position of adult support worker until they are able to be transferred to the NQSW post.

Adult support workers will be on a salary of £33,351 pa (inclusive), grade 7.
