Are you a graduate Illustrator / Textile Designer/ Applied Artist or Graphic Designer looking to work on some fantastic retail commissions, homeware collaborations and help a unique social enterprise build their creative portfolio?
Designs in Mind is a working studio, tucked away in Shropshire, where adults living with mental health challenges work together on ambitious, experimental art and design projects. We believe that design has the power to positively affect how we feel, not only in how it looks but also through the experience of making.
We have recently completed a number of exciting collaborations with the Sanderson Design Group, Habitat, and Buy Design and are looking to expand our Artist Team to develop further relationships with leading homeware brands and create inhouse homeware collections for wholesale.
This is an excellent opportunity for an art and design graduate to join our unique social enterprise, being directly responsible for the quality, creativity and delivery of the external projects, collaborations. The building of Design in Mind creative portfolio from member projects, working within the Studio Artist Team.
Designs in Mind portfolio covers a diverse spectrum of product, from textiles to hard decorative products, gifting and cards.
We are looking for a flexible and agile multidisciplinary designer to join the team.
You will have a strong commercial eye and natural flair for colour. It is essential that you demonstrate strong illustrating skills and that you are a skilled pattern designer.
You can work at pace, work well in a team environment and are able to confidently communicate and share your ideas.
Job Role - 21 hours per week (3 days) £23k pro rata Benefits - Company pension scheme. Two Weeks Christmas closure (not taken from holiday entitlement) 28 days holiday ( or part time equivalent)
Skills and Experience Required: BA Hons degree in Textiles/Graphic Design or Illustration Experience working as a designer within a homeware team Excellent knowledge of Adobe illustrator & photoshop are essential Passion for design Highly creative & diverse portfolio showcasing multiple styles.

Part-time hours: 22.5 per week
Salary: £23,000.00 per year
