Hours: 1 hour 20 minutes a day between 11.55am and 1.15 pm, Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year (including inset days)
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Ashgate Primary School, Ashbourne Road, Derby, DE22 3FS

Start date: As soon as possible

The Governors at Ashgate Primary School are looking to appoint and enthusiastic, friendly and discreet person who has an ability to work as part of a team of Midday Supervisors. Duties include supervising and supporting the children in the dining hall and whilst in the playground or indoors in wet weather. You should care about the health and wellbeing of children and essentially enjoy interacting with our children and working with them to engage in appropriate games and activities. The successful candidate will be expected to be flexible and committed to supporting all children.

We’re looking for people who want to bring joy, will be cheerful, bubbly and make a positive difference to all children – especially those who find life more challenging than others!

Included in this particular role is the expectation to undertake basic first aid duties, therefore experience and qualifications in first aid practice will be advantageous. Candidates with experience and or appropriate first aid qualifications must make this clear in their application. Should the successful candidate not have the relevant experience or training this will be provided for them.

Inset days: training is sometimes given on Inset days and, if so, normal working hours apply, however staff may be requested to attend training outside their working hours in agreement with the line manager.

Safeguarding
Ashgate Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All posts are subject to an enhanced DBS clearance. Candidates are strongly advised to review the school Safeguarding Policy on the school website prior to making an application.

If you would be interested in this rewarding role, please complete and return the application form via email or post. If you would like to visit the school, please contact the office.

Important
As the post involves working with children, successful candidates will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure Barring Service check.

All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
