An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Veterinary Receptionist to join our friendly team at Deane Vets based across our two branches at Taunton and Wiveliscombe.
The Veterinary Receptionist will be involved in ensuring exceptional client and patient care is delivered at every visit. You will greet clients, offer support and guidance, manage payments, book future appointments, register care plans, cash up and ensure all end of day checks are completed allowing smooth daily running of the clinic.
You will work in a large team of Veterinary Surgeons, Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses and Receptionists, where being a happy and friendly team player is a must.
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 40 hours per week over 5 days between the hours of 8 am – 7 pm, Monday to Friday, with also joining the weekend rota of currently 1:4 Saturday mornings with time in Lieu given retrospectively.

We are a progressive small animal practice on the edge of Taunton. We are within easy reach of the coast, or the Big Smoke of Bristol or Exeter. We can offer forward looking veterinary care with great facilities, in a calm professional environment where team support is paramount. You would join a team of 6 Veterinary Surgeons, 5 Registered Veterinary Nurses with 2 Student Veterinary Nurses and a supportive reception team. Teamwork is very important to us with frequent case discussions, support and advice. We are a GP practice but with plenty of scope for developing specialist interests and advancing skills.
Applicant requirements
We are looking for a Veterinary Receptionist who has experience working in a busy workplace or practice. Ideally the candidate would have previous experience within the Veterinary industry, but this is not essential as full training will be given.
The role will suit a positive, proactive and supportive individual, who has excellent organisational and attention to detail skills.
