Position Overview & Specifications
Introduction
They are looking for a Technical Architect to design and implement technical solutions with experience specialising in either VMWare, Virtualisation or Linux.
This a hybrid role that will require you on site in Gloucestershire 1-3 days on site a month.
You will develop and document the architecture of existing platforms and services to transition from legacy systems to cloud based architectures.
Our client requires you to hold an active DV level clearance and a single British nationality.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement technical solutions
- Support engineers in the build and development of proof of concept
- Design and implement solutions
- Develop and document the architecture of existing platforms and services to transition from legacy systems to cloud based architectures
- Liaise with stakeholders to gather requirements and gain an understanding of the business environment
- Advise on the latest technologies and methodologies
Skills & experience
- Hands-on experience in an engineering role either VMWare and Virtualisation or Linux
- Experience working in technical computing-based environments
- Understanding of Linux and its broader eco system
- Experience of deployment automation technologies
- The ability to code, specifically Infrastructure as code
- Network design, implementation, and administration
- Experience in the design and application of systems, leveraging automation technologies
- Understanding of Virtualisation and Container technologies
- Ability to design large complex systems
