Contracts Lawyer - Full-time
Our long standing client in East London is looking for a full-time Contracts Lawyer. We are looking for a person who is looking to grow with the company. This is an opportunity to be part of a team that is growing rapidly, and learn how to help clients navigate the ever-changing legal landscape.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating contracts, including but not limited to, labor and employment contracts, subcontracts, and employment agreements
- Negotiating with vendors, sub-contractors, and suppliers for new business
- Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions, and other documents for litigation or other proceedings
- Preparing discovery requests in anticipation of litigation or other proceedings
- Preparing motions related to litigation or other proceedings
- Preparing trial briefs and closing statements for clients' cases
- Preparing discovery responses in anticipation of litigation or other proceedings
- Preparing briefs for deposition testimony and deposition notes
Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree in law or related field preferred. Experience in the construction industry will be considered in lieu of degree. Licensure as an attorney assistant is preferred but not required. Skills Preferred
- Experience working with contract disputes and contract drafting services preferred. Contract litigation experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
