We’re looking for de-kit warehouse operatives to join the waste management and recycling team at our Biggleswade depot.

As a waste management and recycling operative at Co-op, you’ll be part of friendly team – working together to unload our lorries and organise waste for recycling and collection. It’s an active role where you’ll work towards daily targets as you move around the warehouse. If you’d welcome the opportunity to get some exercise while you’re on the clock, this could be the right job for you!

In return for your hard-work you’ll also get great onboarding training and support, fantastic on-site facilities, a competitive salary and benefits package, and a manager who listens to you and works with you to protect your wellbeing.

What you’ll do:
  • unload delivery vehicles with cages and pallets
  • organise and distribute waste to the correct location in the warehouse
  • stack pallets for recycling collections
  • work in a team to achieve key targets
  • follow all the depot health and safety procedures
This role would suit people who have:
  • the ability to comfortably perform manual tasks
  • good communication skills
  • the ability to work within a team environment
Why Co-op?

As a Co-op colleague you’ll do work that matters in an organisation where principles are just as important as profits. You’ll also get a package that includes:

  • competitive rates of pay
  • additional shift allowances
  • 31 days holiday for new starters rising in line with service (including bank holidays)
  • discounts on Co-op products and services, with ‘pay day’ special deals
  • a pension with up to 10% employer contributions
  • extensive wellbeing and support benefits

Building an inclusive workplace

We’re actively building diverse teams and we welcome applications from everyone. We want to build inclusive work environments, where our colleagues have equal opportunities to reach their full potential. We celebrate our differences, and recognise the importance of our teams reflecting the communities they serve.

If you have a disability, we can make reasonable adjustments to our recruitment process according to your needs. We're also part of the Disability Confident scheme, meaning we'll always offer an interview to disabled candidates who apply through the scheme if they meet the minimum criteria for a job.

We'll ask whether you’d like to be considered under the Disability Confident scheme when you apply.

If we invite you to take part in the recruitment process for any of our jobs, we’ll ask you if you need any reasonable adjustments to enable you to participate.

You can find out more about our recruitment process at jobs.coop.co.uk/apply-process.

You can find out more about the Disability Confident scheme and all our commitments to diversity and inclusion at colleagues.coop.co.uk/diversity-inclusion-and-wellbeing.

As part of your application you’ll need to complete an online assessment. It will take you around 12 minutes to complete this test.
