Contract Packers Ltd is recruiting salad onion harvesters for the season 2023. We are an established company specialized in the agriculture industry. For over 18 years, we have been harvesting salad onions for the UK supermarkets. In average we employ over a 100 staff every year. Our employees are motivated, hardworking and good team players!

Do you think that you can be a valuable member of our team?

You will be required to:

1. Pull the required number of onions from the ground (8-12 onions, depending on the required specification)

2. Remove all dead and yellow leaves from each onion.

3. Bunch the onions using two rubber bands ensuring that the onions are evenly placed (the roots/base plate must be level with each other)

4. Brake off the end of the leaves, ensuring minimum damage to the leaf and that the ends are even.

5. Place bunches on the ground in preparation for root trimming and boxing up.

6. You will have to box up the produced bunches, and occasionally, load boxes on pallets.

7. You must ensure that every box contains the required number of bunches and your picker number (usually 100 bunches per crate or 80 bunches depends on the crop conditions)

8. The minimum output required is 105 bunches per hour.

You will be able to:

• Perform a demanding job at the standards required (quality and outputs)
• Achieving hourly and daily targets set up by the team leader/supervisor.
• Complete the crate with correct number of bunches in the timely manner.
• Work with attention to details without continuous supervision
• Work in diverse weather conditions

• Attend work as required and follow the instructions of your Supervisor/Manager

Salary: £10.42-£20.00 per hour
