Job Title: Fine Art Customs Assistant
Working Hours: 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday (Standard day), variable subject to out of hours workload.
Reporting to: Customs Manager
Location: Based in either London (SE15 1LE) or Iver (SL0 9JQ), with flexible remote working policy once probation has been completed.
As a member of the Customs Team, you will have a unique role within the company. You will provide essential services to various stakeholders ensuring the smooth operation of the business. You will be provided with all the training and support you need to progress in the role.
Prior experience in Customs is not necessary however an interest in International Trade will be beneficial.
Main responsibilities
- Being a main point of contact with HMRC for numerous departments including Galleries, Exhibitions, Operations, Drivers, and Accounts.
- Assisting the Customs Manager with administrative duties. This will include processing customs clearances, shipping coordination, and liaising in person with clients.
- Maintaining electronic records for various Customs Authorisations.
- Processing VAT/Duty payments & reclaims with HMRC.
- Advising clients and other colleagues via MS Teams, email, and phone.
Requirements:
- Experience with the Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Office 365).
- An interest in International Trade with some basic knowledge of shipping is beneficial.
- Able to manage workload, prioritising the most urgent tasks, with attention to detail.
- Eager to take on responsibilities.
- Comfortable working remotely out of hours when required.
