Design & Reprographics Assistant

With investments in world leading technologies to significantly increase technical capability, quality, and capacity, we are looking to recruit a talented and passionate design and reprographics assistant to join the team.

Overview of Role

The ideal candidate would have a background in reprographics or graphic design with an of understanding of print, varnish effects, foil blocking, embossing/debossing, die cutting and gluing across a range of paper and carton board substrates. Experience working directly with customers to develop, enhance and modify artworks. They will need to be skilled, accurate, flexible, and proactive to take on the challenge of a dynamic working environment. They will also be able to work alongside various departments and tooling suppliers to achieve the best results possible.

Core Responsibilities

· Work with sales and clients to develop structural carton design

· Use a range of software tools to develop client concepts from supplied artwork through to print ready files for internal and client sign off

· Produce technical reviews of artworks to ensure the best possible results are achieved within printing, foil blocking and substrate constraints

· Colour management, colour profiling and preparing customer proofs using industry leading tools

· Maintain quality, accuracy and consistency of artwork whilst working to tight deadlines

· Produce print plates, order tooling etc. to fully prepare jobs for production

· Accurately manage and administrate projects from conception to completion

Person Specification

· Knowledge of artwork, pre-press, repro procedures and workflows

· Knowledge of litho print, foil blocking, embossing/debossing, cutting and gluing processes across a range of paper-based substrates

· Knowledge of colour, ink, and special effect varnishes

· Proven experience of artwork development and manipulation to a high standard

· Experience of creative software – For example Illustrator, Photoshop, AutoCAD (3+ years, conversion training will be provided on specific software packages)

· Quick learner who is self-motivated, enthusiastic, positive, and flexible with a hands-on approach to operate within a dynamic and high growth working environment

· Excellent communication skills, confident and approachable

· Motivated to strive for the best, to challenge and extend the boundaries of existing production capabilities

· High standard of administration skills

· Structural design experience is an advantage

· Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.

· Meticulous, methodical, focused

· Mac and Windows skills

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £24,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
