Position Overview & Specifications

As Junior writer/editor you will write and edit content for CMC Markets’ leveraged CFD business aimed at retail clients in the UK. You will write and edit news and analysis articles, regular email updates highlighting trading opportunities across a range of financial instruments, video summaries from CMC’s Masterclass sessions and daily updates published on our trading platform to notify active clients of price forecasts and technical movements.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • You’ll be responsible for facilitating exceptional-quality content and supporting the amplification of said content by delivering articles, emails, videos, platform notifications, and social media posts
  • Edit and critique CMC’s technical and macro trading content output, liaising with a roster of external experts to ensure the accuracy of information
  • Publish and edit CMC’s articles via CMC’s CMS, as per the team’s editorial calendar and in line with the team’s OKRs (Objectives & Key results)
  • Support the publication of CMC’s newsletter and platform notifications on our eCRM platform, commissioning/editing content where applicable
  • Track the news and performance of multiple asset classes (e.g., Indices, FX, and commodities) to ensure we report on market movements promptly and efficiently
  • Bring new ideas to CMC’s weekly editorial meetings - the junior writer/editor should work closely with the Senior Content Manager to ensure processes are optimised consistently
  • Work collaboratively with other marketing stakeholders, eCRM and sales to achieve optimal results
  • Regularly review and edit CMC’s trading content and define new experiments to test new approaches
  • Help to optimise open rate and click-through rate by suggesting improved subject lines, CTA and other content edits on multiple mediums.
  • Regularly collaborate with industry thought leaders (e.g., J.C. Parets) on content partnerships; leveraging their know-how to improve the quality of content efficacy
  • Maintain weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting on key metrics, including newsletter, article, video, in-app, and push notification performance.
  • Research topics from top sources, so our content contains timely and accurate information
  • Utilise AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) to increase the efficiency of delivering content ideas and deliverables
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Exceptional copywriter
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and genuinely interested in the trading/investing universe
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work to tight publishing deadlines and comfortable in providing real-time updates to clients
  • Self-starter with the ability to drive projects with minimum supervision/management
Educational / experience requirements:
  • A 2:1 or above in a relevant degree (e.g., English literature)
  • 1 - 2 years experience in a relevant role/industry
  • Technical knowledge, including Article/email CMS (e.g., WordPress, Hubspot etc.) and Social Media Platforms
