Position Overview & Specifications
The ideal candidate for this role will have previous civil experience within the utilities sector. The ideal candidate will need to be proactive in their approach to daily tasks, be able to lonework where required & have a high standard of general housekeeping to maintain clean sites. Our head office is situated in West Penwith, but we carry out works throughout the whole of Cornwall and Devon. Successful candidates will be expected to work out of satellite depots across Cornwall and Devon.
Key Responsibilities: -
- Responsibility for personal and site safety;
- Responsible for operating to standards of safety, compliance & competence required by own professional driving qualifications;
- Responsible for maintaining sites to local authority standards.
- Be able to communicate with the other civils teams in relation to their needs.
- Carry out general work as instructed by the Supervisor;
- Operate and maintain vans and or pickup trucks and commence daily walkaround checks;
- Ensure all work complies with relevant Safety, Health and Environmental legislation, business policy & procedure and local instruction & guidance;
- Ensure full and correct use of vehicles, plant and materials, keeping wastage to a minimum;
- Develop good relationships with all customers, site agents, project managers and team leaders, and provide site support for customer enquiries;
- Any ad-hoc duties that may occur as instructed by the management team or team leader/ganger;
- Communicating with the supervisor and other colleagues as required to update them on progress, timely communication when unexpected issues arise on-site;
Key Skills and Preferred Qualifications: -
· UK clean driving licence;
· NRSWA Supervisor or Operative Qualification; (Preferred)
· Valid CSCS Card; (Preferred)
· First Aid;
· Abrasive Wheels;
· Cat & Geny;
· Manual Handling;
· Able to operate in a flexible and adaptable manner and work as part of a team;
· Have reasonable written and numerical skills;
· Committed;
· Hardworking;
· Reliable;
· Punctual;
· Good communicator;
· A good self-organiser;
· Self-motivating;
· Generally to be willing, helpful, enthusiastic and flexible;
· Open to attend training programmes to increase individual skills and knowledge;

Pension available
The rate of pay is negotiable depending on experience.

Salary: £24,700.00-£32,000.00 per year
