Position Overview & Specifications

Working within Centrica’s Digital Technology Services (DTS), you will be offered the opportunity to provide PMO support to the delivery of the programmes and projects as well as forecasting pipeline of demand across the DTS technology resource. As well as supporting the Demand/Resource Manager with the governance activities you will gain exposure to portfolio planning, project governance, lifecycle management, budget management, financial tracking, and resource profiling.

The Day to Day

  • Supporting Portfolio/ Programme/Project Managers through effective assurance and governance of projects/programmes
  • Reviewing investment governance for the portfolio, working with the relevant stakeholders and Finance Partners to highlight issues, providing project cost planning guidance and ensure projects remain in governance.
  • Working with Stakeholders to support all annual, quarterly and monthly budgeting and forecasting processes to enable Portfolio-level decision making and recommendations.
  • Ensure risks and issues are monitored and reported across the Portfolio
  • Ensure appropriate change management processes are adhered across the Portfolio
  • Provide support and guidance to the Project Management community with the company’s Delivery Framework and project portfolio tool
  • Develop, support, and implement best practices and templates that support a standard and consistent approach to Project /Programme Management

About you

  • PMO experience or experience in Project Management with good understanding /expertise in Waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • Management of key portfolio, business and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to engage, build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all activity delivers greatest value.
  • Relationship building and management with both internal and external customers and partners.
  • Ability to engage with and influence project and programme management.
  • Ability to identify and understand Project delivery and ensure risks are mitigated.
  • Working knowledge and experience of PPM tools, such as Service Now ITBM
  • Positive attitude to developing professional knowledge, expertise and personal skills that lead to increased effectiveness.
