Position Overview & Specifications

Contract: Full time, fixed term until June 2024

Salary: £40,000-£48,000

Location: Cambridge, Hybrid (May be required to be in the office on a weekly basis)

About the role

The Assessment Projects Group (APG) is part of the Assessment and Customer Services Division. It has two teams of Assessment Managers, a typesetting team and a team of Senior Assessment Advisors. APG works closely with the Cambridge Partnership for Education (CPE) to deliver the assessment aspects of its projects to develop partners' education systems These include supporting the establishment of new awarding organisations. and advising governments and other agencies on their assessment policy. APG also delivers the curriculum aligned assessments that support the Cambridge primary and lower secondary programme.

About you

The role would suit a person with a background in teaching and a high standard of both English and Arabic. You will be educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with a knowledge of educational assessment.

You will manage the development and delivery of assessments of Arabic language and of humanities/social sciences through the medium of Arabic, with assessment work in English, possibly related to other subjects, as required.

You will contribute to reviews of assessment systems at policy and implementation level and reviews of clients' assessment instruments against specified criteria. You may also support our customers with their training and capacity development needs.

Meticulous in your approach, the ability to follow procedures is essential as you will be checking, proofreading, and signing off assessment materials, as well as managing examiners to ensure accuracy of marking and conformity to our assessment standards.

You will be comfortable working under pressure and to tight deadlines, working during periods of high workload in the running of an examination series, as well as working in a project-based environment.

With plenty of opportunity to use your outstanding organisational skills, you will have the ability to prioritise, self-manage your workload, and deliver against your objectives.

A can-do, positive attitude to work and team working is also essential.
