Forklift Field Service Engineer

Location: Hertfordshire

As a result of a thriving partnership with the leading manufacturer of forklift trucks, C&D Fork Trucks Ltd is looking to recruit a Field Service Engineer to service, maintain and repair forklift trucks and other materials handling equipment. The engineer is required to join the Field Service team in completing jobs in Hertfordshire, Essex, Bedfordshire, North London & surrounding areas.

In this role, you will be servicing forklifts on clients' sites for a variety of industries. Troubleshooting, repairing forklifts, and completing detailed reports on the status of the job.

The Job

• Service, maintenance and repair of a variety of forklift truck brands and models as well as other warehouse equipment
• Undertaking Thorough Examination and certification of forklift trucks
• Working to a planned schedule of jobs at various customers premises
• Receiving and responding to breakdowns; quickly troubleshooting and repairing machines on site
• Responsibility for accurately ordering spare parts and controlling your van stock
• Following safety procedures, ensuring safe working practices at all times
• Using specialised software to complete detailed reports on the status of each job
• Providing a best-in-class experience to customers, liaising on fault finding and resolution, being polite at all times
• From time to time undertaking other workshop duties

The Person:

• Ideally based in the Hertfordshire area
• Full UK driving licence
• Experience as an automotive technician (VW/Audi), servicing, repairing or maintaining materials handling equipment (MHE), construction plant, agricultural machinery or power access equipment (MEWP) or forklift trucks
• Basic electrical knowledge would be a benefit
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

The Package:

• Salary: dependent on experience
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
• 20 days’ holiday plus Bank Holidays
