Job Title: Sample Handling Technician
Location: Witham, Essex
Salary: £21,695 + shift allowance

Role Purpose
Working in a fast-paced commercial laboratory, the successful candidate(s) will control the movement, storage and disposal of samples and the transportation of goods between different sites using a company van.

Working Hours
Monday to Friday - Working a weekly rotation of 6:00-13:00 and 13:00-20:00. Overtime available during busy periods paid at a premium rate.

Main Duties
  • Responsible for maintaining the sample storage area.
  • The transport of samples and equipment between sites using a company vehicle.
  • To ensure safe working practices in line with HSE policy, Risk Assessment and COSHH procedures.
  • Process high value samples and the disposal of low-level samples.
  • To assist with the delivery of samples into the company.

Candidate Profile/Required Experience
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Flexible and willing to analyse the role to make positive changes where you see fit.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to work independently and manage your own time.
  • Must have a valid UK driving licence.
  • Previous warehouse experience would be beneficial but not necessary.
  • Be comfortable working at height.
  • Fit and able to work on your feet all day.
  • Able to lift boxes up to 20kg
  • Full training will be provided.
