Production Operators

• BSW Timber – Corpach, Fort William, PH33 7AP

• Rotating Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 6am - 3pm / Monday to Thursday, 3pm - 1am

• Full-time / Permanent

Due to our continued and exciting growth, we are looking to recruit a Production Operator to join our workforce across the BSW Timber site in Corpach, Fort William. As a Production Operator, you will contribute towards the creation of quality timber products – on time and to specification.

Some responsibilities of a Production Operator may include:

• Operation of state-of-the-art sawmilling machinery within our Primary and Secondary sawmilling operations.
• Operation of Side Loaders for movement of sawn timber in the Stock Yard, or Wheeled Loaders &/or 360 Material Handlers for unloading of log wagons in our Log Yard.
• Using technologically advanced scanning equipment to determine timber pack positions within the Stock Yard.
• Upholding the appropriate Health & Safety practices across the site.

About you:

We’re seeking motivated and hardworking individuals who are quality focused and who understand the value of the goods they are producing. A degree of flexibility will be required to ensure operations are maximised, maintained and quality targets are met with minimum wastage. In addition, you will have:

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• An appreciation of quality and Health & Safety.
• Willingness to undertake all relevant training required to fulfil the role.
• Experience within a manufacturing, or similar production environment, would be advantageous.
• Full Driving Licence (Log Yard and Stock Yard candidates).
