An exciting opportunity has arisen within our firm for a paralegal to join us in our Salford-based office on a full-time basis.
Being the leading firm in fibromyalgia, chronic pain and CRPS cases, no two days are ever the same. The work is often challenging but always rewarding!
The ideal candidate for this role will have proven experience and knowledge in civil litigation, however, experience in this area of law is not essential and full training will be provided.
This is a permanent position with an immediate start and the working hours are Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm, with early closing on Fridays in winter months, office closure all bank holidays, Jewish holidays and full office closure between Christmas and New Year!
Being just on the outskirts of Manchester City Centre, there are great travel links close by but without the hassle of the city centre traffic. There is also free onsite parking with an electric charging point installed.
Main Duties:
As paralegal to one of the Directors, the ideal candidate will carry out the following duties:
- Typing chronologies and other legal documents
- Setting up telephone conferences
- Liaising with counsel and experts
- Making fee remission applications
- Taking and preparing witness statements
- Preparing cost schedules
- Requesting, chasing and organising records
- Preparing hearing bundles
- Preparing letters of instruction for experts and Instructions to Counsel
- Other general tasks in order to assist own and other fee earners
Person Specification:
- Strong use of Microsoft Office (notably Word and Outlook, with Excel being advantageous but not essential), as well as a strong willingness / ability to adapt to and utilise new technology
- Competent in the use of case management systems (full training will be provided for LEAP, with prior knowledge being advantageous but not essential)
- Strong verbal and written skills
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise own workload to best meet deadlines
- Team player with a ‘can do’ attitude
- Ability to work on own initiative

Salary is up to £24,000 per annum dependent upon experience.
