Birch Hill Primary School are looking for relief school cleaners to help keep our school clean and safe for our school community. We are a two form entry primary school with a Nursery. Our team of cleaners work across the school at the end of the day and in the school holidays. The work includes cleaning classrooms, toilets, offices and shared spaces.

The ideal candidate will have experience of cleaning and of working in a school environment. They should be able to clean to a high standard and be flexible, reliable and cheerful. They should be happy working independently.

This role is a relief role on a casual contract and includes working in term time after school or day time in the school holidays to cover staff absences, sometimes at short notice but can also be booked in advance.

Term time hours are worked between 3.20pm and 6pm on school days and school holiday hours can be worked flexibly between 8am and 6pm.

Pre–employment medical check

References

If you are not currently working with children/adults at risk but have done so in the past it is important that a reference is obtained from the employer by whom you were most recently employed working with children/adults at risk.

Employment references must be provided by your current or most recent line manager and will not be accepted from relatives or people writing solely in the capacity of friends. However, your referees may include someone you know with standing in the community i.e. a teacher, vicar etc.

We take up references for all shortlisted candidates and wherever possible we like to apply for these prior to interview.
