Position Overview & Specifications

Job description 36hrs +

We are supported living company assisting people with Mental Health, Substance Misuse and Learning Difficulties. We have sites in Gloucester, Bristol and Staffordshire & Wiltshire. This role will be for our Bristol sites. Our services Users either need 24hr assistance or are actively independent. Our sites are similar to your own home, they are not residential or a care home environments and each person has their own room and access to all the shared facilities. English is spoken in all our sites and is the expected communication method for our Service Users and staff at all times. English does not have to be your first language.

We currently do not provide sponsorship

Preferred Requirements

· Minimum of 6 months Previous health care experience

· Completed Care Certificate

· NVQ Level 2 Health and Social Care

· Full Driving licence is preferential not essential

Duties & Responsibilities

· Assisting Service Users with daily tasks, cleaning, cooking, attending medical appointments, travel on public transport, shopping, managing finances, social activities etc

· Completing paperwork, daily records, risk assessments, diary management as directed by line manager

· Cleaning - incorporating the recommended health & safety requirements

· Communication with Health Care Professionals and emergency services

· Covid -19 testing for yourself and service users as necessary

· Work well within a team and utilise handover sessions effectively

· Being mindful of Service User’s choices - which includes but is not limited to their identity, rights, personal choice, privacy, independence, and dignity

· Staying compliant with all your training requirements as specified and to commit to ongoing personal and professional development

· To participate in staff meetings and training

· To act with initiative, accountability and to have pride in your responsibilities

· To recognise one’s own strengths and weakness and those of colleagues to contribute effectively to the functioning of the team

COVID-19 considerations:

All staff are required to test twice a week before shifts. All Service Users are offered the same. Visitors including Health Care Professional, Family etc are temperature checked, asked to use hand sanitiser and offered a mask

Experience:

  • Care certificate or Level 2 Health & Social Care Certificate (preferred)
