Bewl Water Activity Team member

Bewl Water is one of the fastest growing activity destinations in the South East. Become part of the team this season and help deliver our amazing activities including bike hire, laser tag and boat hire.

Job type: Casual/Part time contract. Seasonal full-time role considered for the right candidate.

Must be available to work at weekends.

Salary: from £7.50ph- Depending on Experience

Role Purpose:

To assist with the provision of activities at Bewl water including bike hire, boat hire and laser tag whilst providing cover in other outlets. The role ensures that customers are provided with essential information prior to embarking on an activity and to be an information point for all visitors to Bewl upholding brand standards and representing the ethos of the Bewl Water team and Elite Leisure.

Staff profile:

Enthusiastic, passionate, with a love of sport, cycling and the outdoors. Competent in speaking to members of the public, groups and leading activities.

The ideal staff member will have worked in a similar outdoor attraction and have experience working with groups, young people and delivering activities, sports clubs or birthday parties.

Key Responsibilities:

· Maintaining excellent customer service standards.

· Handling cash and card payments.

· Ensuring an efficient hiring process is upheld for the customer.

· Carry out safety checks and inductions

· Ensuring that all equipment are available and ready for pre- bookings

· Providing equipment and sales advice to customers.

· Where necessary maintain cycle and boat hire equipment to aid the hire operation.

· Be prepared to help with alternative activities and outlets to ensure efficient operation on site.

· Ensure the required standards of equipment and customer service are being met

· Communicate with manager any issues and development opportunities.

Qualifications:

GCSE Maths & English (min. C grade)

Desirable:

· Experience gained from seasonal activity holidays, expeditions, the Duke of Edinburgh's Award scheme or any other relevant activities is beneficial.

· First aid qualifications.

· Formal instructor's qualification in specialist activity and to have worked as an outdoor pursuit’s instructor.

· Cytech Level 1 or above.

· RYA Powerboat 2 qualification (not essential)

· NGB Level 1 coaching certificate.

· Experience working with children in professional setting.

· Excellent organisational skills.

· Ability to work effectively under pressure.

· Computer literate.

· A competent cyclist.

Desirable:

· Commercial awareness

· Bicycle maintenance knowledge

· Experience of working on or near water

· Knowledge of Disability Discrimination Act, Equal Opportunities, Health & Safety and Employment Legislation.

Hours of work:

The nature of our business requires successful candidates to be available to work weekends, Bank Holidays and school holidays throughout the summer season.
