HGV Class 1 and Class 2 HGV lorry drivers

Due to an exceptionally busy order book BE EVENT HIRE are continuing to recruit additional staff.

At BE Event Hire – we hire out furniture to national events as well as selling furniture.

We are looking for both Class 1 and Class 2 HGV lorry drivers to join our team.

Benefits:

• The hours are a minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Salary £15 p/h for class 1 and £13.50 for class 2 HGV
• It is time and a half for any hours worked over 40 hours Monday to Friday so £20.25 for Class 2 and £22.50 for Class 1 drivers
• There is an additional half time on top of that rate at weekends so it’s possible to earn £30 p/h for Class 1 and £27.00 p/h for Class 2.
• Throughout the season there is usually a good amount of overtime to be worked.
• Under 23 years old the pay rate is according to age, driving & plant licences eg any forklift licences and experience

Role Responsibilities:

• The role is not purely driving - it includes preparing items of furniture for hire . Loading vans and lorries by hand and by forklift. There is a lot of physical work.
• Delivering and collecting the furniture, offloading and setting it up on site
• Sometimes you will work independently, sometimes you will work in a team in our yard or at a venue such as the ExCel / NEC or a music festival .
• We have weekend work, so whilst core hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Friday, if the business requires it you will need to work some hours during evenings and some weekends.

• Good attention to detail,
• The ability to count accurately,
• A high degree of customer and product care
• A very flexible attitude and willingness to help and learn a variety of skills.
• The role is physically active - moving furniture – so a good level of fitness and self motivation is needed.
