Position Overview & Specifications

Role Title: HR Director, Chief Controls Office and Chief Security Office

Location: London or Glasgow

What will you be doing:

The HR Director for Chief Security Office (CSO) and Chief Controls Office (CCO) will act as a strategic enabler and trusted partner to the Chief Security Officer and the Chief Controls Officer and their respective leadership teams. Total headcount circa 2,700 payroll colleagues globally (1,700 CSO and 1,000 CCO)


Partnering across the HR centres of expertise (HR Transaction Cycles) the role holder will provide professional advice on all aspects of HR; developing, driving, and executing the cyclical people processes, and delivering the people plan across CSO and CCO in alignment with broader People Plans (COO). This also includes driving the critical DE&I and Talent agenda partnership with business leads.

Key Accountabilities include:

  • Act as a strategic thinking partner to the Chief Security Officer and Chief Controls Officer; challenging and formulating the strategic people vision and priorities for their businesses.
  • Instil a data-driven approach to the people agenda, enabling deeper insight and analytics to shape business strategy, colleague engagement activity, and workforce planning
  • Execute cyclical people process including talent reviews, performance management, annual payround activity and colleague engagement survey results
  • Drive the people plan’s within CSO and CCO focused on building leadership capability, culture, and colleague engagement (including Mindset, Speaking Up, embedment of Consistently Excellent), Diversity and Inclusion, development of colleagues (skill sets for the future, re-skilling etc), workforce planning
  • Contribute to overall cultural objectives, helping to create an environment where people feel connected to the strategic priorities of CSO and CCO
  • Maintain an objective control focus across all aspects of role
  • Work as an integral member of the global HR team, displaying high levels of leadership and transformational abilities and striving for continuous improvement across the HR offering to maximise the efficiency of the global HR service.


What we’re looking for:

  • The successful candidate would typically have an undergraduate degree.
  • The role holder must display high levels of commercial acumen, leadership and clear transformational abilities, with the people skills and executive presence to interact effectively with senior leaders.
  • Significant experience operating as a high-commitment HR professional, ideally within a global organisation of comparable size and culture.
  • The successful candidate should ideally have experience performing senior HRBP roles as well as an experience / ability to manage and navigate a complex organisation and management of senior stakeholders
  • Experience of supporting large client-populations and the associated data and people challenges that accompany them.
  • Fact-based in approach, with the intellectual capability to process data at speed and understand information and insights from a variety of perspectives
  • A progressive and creative thinker, with a track record of execution and delivery
  • The successful candidate should be an experienced leader who has previous experience demonstrating that they are capable of influencing and leading a high performing global team through matrix reporting lines. The successful candidate should also be able to demonstrate a track record of broader organisational leadership and driving outcomes outside of their immediate responsibilities.
