Front-Office C#/.NET Developer
London



As a Barclays Front-Office C#/.NET Developer you will be joining the Equities and Funds Structured (EFS) Direct Technology team working with the EFS Structured Products Equity Derivatives business. As part of Markets Execution Technology (ME) you will be primarily dealing with the issuance controls and working closely with Trading, Sales, Legal and Middle Office Teams. You will be working on a greenfield development project on a cross asset class issuance platform.

What will you be doing?
• Enhancing the platform as part of a series of ambitious strategic growth initiatives, this is a part of a significant re-architecture effort to move the platform to new technologies
  • Owning, developing and shipping both revenue generating and regulatory projects in addition to improving the existing system
  • 80% developing high quality maintainable code for yourself and team and 20% level 2 supporting
  • Making technical decisions that require a board understanding of the problem domain
  • Working and communicating globally with other developers and team leads to build technical solutions
  • Investigating and resolving production issues
  • Participating in architectural vision to build sustaining platform
  • Engaging in detailed dialogue with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in order to drive consensus on solutions
What we’re looking for:
• Experience developing application in C#, .Net and .Net Core for general server-side development
  • Experience in building Microservices and REST APIs (Application Programming Interface) as well as writing MSSQL (Microsoft SQL Server) / Transact-SQL (TSQL) code
  • Proven Agile experience (preferably Scrum/Kanban)
  • Knowledge or keen desire to learn another programming language such as Python or Java and associated eco-system is highly sought after, so is any exposure to Angular/JavaScript
Skills that will help you in the role:
• Knowledge of HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure Protocol) and web services
  • Experience providing support and resolving production issues
  • Understanding of derivative products
  • Experience building systems in trading, banking and/ or financial organization as well as internet/client facing secure portals and APIs (Application Programming Interface)
