We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Operations Engagement Manager within our Network Development & Planning team.
In this role, you will lead, shape and coordinate development and agreement of our Operational Business Plans. This includes informing our Annual Business Plan (ABP), development of our National Rail Contract (NRC), and monitoring ongoing delivery of our plans.
These are at the core of the proposition and service plans we are committing to deliver with the Department for Transport (DfT), focusing on maximising value for customers and taxpayers as we implement key projects including our new trains and timetable change.
Embedded within our Operations function and working closely across teams, the role will lead in channelling expertise on timetable planning, performance, workforce planning, service delivery and related stakeholder engagement into our business planning.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
  • Delivery of Operations & Safety Business Plans & Committed Obligations, including reporting on the progress of delivery as directed.
  • Undertake timetable assurance, across key elements, including timetable bids, roster consultation, contingency plans & tracking key risks.
  • Support the delivery of strategic readiness activity
  • Inform and influence industry policy agenda working with wider stakeholders, and build emerging reform into our Business Planning. Birming
  • Joint performance improvement initiatives with Network Rail under our Alliance, to inform target setting, and agreement of our joint scorecard.
To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate:
  • Experience of strategic planning process
  • Experience of gathering and compiling plans cross-functionally
  • Practitioner experience in an operational environment.
  • Exceptional written communication and analytical skills
  • Positive, resilient and proactive attitude
  • Skills in project management
