We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated bioanalytical scientist to join our DMPK team.

Oncology R&D DMPK department

The Oncology Drug Metabolism and Pharmacokinetics (DMPK) department provides ADME/PK, as well as translational PK/PD Modelling & Simulation support to all modalities in our discovery and development portfolio.

What you’ll do

You will join a lab based team of DMPK scientists that supports our diverse portfolio including small molecules, PROTACs, antibody drugs conjugates (ADCs) and nanomedicines. The qualified candidate will deliver quantitative bioanalysis for oncology pharmacology and pharmacokinetic studies during drug discovery and development, maintaining close collaboration between oncology DMPK and Bioscience. The position is based in Cambridge (UK).

Accountabilities

  • Providing quantitative LC-MSMS bioanalysis for in-vivo pharmacology and PK studies (non GLP)

  • Delivering analytical solutions for small molecules including beyond rule of five compounds

  • Taking a leading role in the lab designing bioanalysis method strategies

  • Interpreting and communicating data generated to support projects

  • Maintaining and progressing internal data processing tools (NCA)

  • Tutor / mentor early career scientists (no direct line management responsibility)

  • Recommending and supporting innovations within the discipline

  • Contributing to publishing papers in internationally recognised journals

Minimum Requirements – Education, Experience and Capabilities

  • first degree in a relevant scientific discipline ideally followed by PhD or equivalent experience as bioanalytical scientist.

  • The ability to develop hypotheses and execute analysis plans for pharmacokinetic studies

  • Experience in data interpretation for DMPK

Extensive experience and expertise in several of the following:

  • LC-MS/MS method development and problem solving for quantitative bioanalysis

  • Experience in troubleshooting analytical and equipment issues

  • Non-compartmental analysis of pharmacokinetic data

  • Bioanalytical and PK data management skills

  • Biological sample extraction and preparation techniques

  • Excellent interpersonal skills that lead to successful collaborative work-relationships
