Position Overview & Specifications

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join Astra Asset Management. Our asset management group is a full-service asset manager, providing clients with access to a diverse range of capabilities and products including real assets, fixed income, liquid alternatives and multi-asset investment management solutions.

Responsibilities

* Originating investment ideas across the product suite of Credit via early engagement with relevant parties (e.g. financial sponsors / company management teams)

* Engaging in all aspects of due diligence and business analysis to develop and refine investment theses

* Participating in structuring, negotiating and documenting investments

* Communicating and defending investment theses to internal stakeholders and committees, including the head of structuring and the firm’s Investment Committees

* Actively monitoring existing investments in the portfolio

* Building relationships with sponsors, management teams and internal stakeholders

* Work closely with the trading team to help evaluate ABS/RMBS/CMBS/CLO securities

* Conduct research through qualitative and quantitative analysis

* Analyse portfolio positions

* Conduct credit analysis on loan issuers in the sector

Qualifications and experience

* Working with a financial institution or similar role for at least 1-3 years

* Previous experience in an analytical role with the ability to manipulate and analyse data

* Strong quantitative, financial modelling, analytical and problem-solving skills

* Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written

* Flexible and creative mindset; ability to analyse a variety of industries and businesses

* Ability to self-direct, analyse and evaluate and form independent judgments

* Ability to interact and build relationships with a wide variety of people

* Passion for investing with specific interest in credit / other structured products

Salary and Location

Salary range is competitive plus benefits. The role is fully office based.
