Reporting and Location
Senior Accountant reports to the Financial Controller of ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions UK Ltd and the role is based in Reading, Berkshire.
Position summary
The Senior accountant is responsible for assisting in the completion of the month end close process, aiding the Financial Controller with reporting and statutory requirements, reviewing and updating of our SAP 4HANA finance package on a number of key areas and supporting internal stakeholder requirements on a timely basis.
Working in a fast paced flat finance structure, looking forward to the next opportunity and the ability to handle continuous change and improvement.
Position responsibilities
- Completion of the monthly Balance sheet Review – Accruals and Prepayments/ Fixed Assets/ Deferred Service revenue postings. I/co Balancing – managing of Netting payments/ Uploading Exchange rates.
- Assisting and then ultimately owning the External Audit annual process with the FC
- Reviewing and analyzing the monthly Sales and Orders, and in turn the calculation of commissionable payment to the Sales teams
- Assisting the payroll process.
- Production of the monthly CIS/ Intrastat/ EC Sales Lists
- Production review and submission of the Quarterly VAT Returns
- Assisting and then ultimately owning the External Audit annual process with the FC
- Managing Fuel Cards/ Fleet management and Support with Annual P11d process.
- Supporting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable payments and collections as required.
- Ad-hoc reporting and requirements as and when required.
Requirements
Characteristics required
- A Solid background in a Management Accounts position, with adequate achievement from studies (CIMA/ACCA/ACA) with an eye to become fully qualified in the next 12 – 18 months if not sooner. With 7 – 10 years Accounting experience
- A strong systems and Excel background. Must have the ability to handle and process large volumes of data whilst maintaining an eye and attention to detail.
- Must have a “can-do” attitude.
- Self-driven, results-oriented person with a positive outlook and a clear focus on high sales growth and increased profits in the short and long term.
- Ability to work both within a defined structure as well as independently
- Ability to operate in an environment of teamwork, common goals, and transparency.
- Must possess strong and effective presentation and communication skills, whether one-on-one, or via written media and be able to demonstrate motivation and influence with others.
- PC and systems literate with ERP/CRM/ SAP 4HANA exposure a plus
