This role sits within our Internal Communication team and supports the Events Manager by having a broad knowledge of all event and administrative processes. The Events Coordinator will be able to manage various events from end to end with the support of the Events Manager.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for all events taking place within the Asda House atrium and management of Events mailbox
- Management of events from end to end such as internal meetings and long service recognition
- Travel to various event locations across Asda and external venues
- Consulting with wider Internal Communication team for the scope and requirements of stakeholders, particularly for larger events such as our annual conferences and monthly meetings
- Ability to manage large scale delegate registration and catering management for events
- Detailed understanding of how to manage accommodation and room block bookings for all events
- Thinks outside of the box to improve existing processes and better ways of working
- Responsible for raising POs, paying invoices and tracking spend
- General events support, including creating proposals for all events
- Supporting wider Internal Communication team as and when required
- Project work as required
Essential skills and experience:
- Ability to organise, plan and prioritise in a fast paced and demanding environment
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Creative and gets the best out of others with the ability to generate innovative ideas
- Tenacity, resilience and a can do attitude
