Job description

Are you experienced in providing Complex Care to children and young people?

Apollo Home Healthcare is seeking experienced Healthcare Assistants to support a teenage boy with complex care needs.

We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Assistants who are passionate about their job, enjoy delivering one to one support and who can build positive relationships with our service users and their families.

Our service user is a teenage boy who lives with his family in Cheadle. You will be required to support him at home and in his educational setting.

He requires an enthusiastic and committed individual who is happy to engage and interact in the activities he enjoys. He likes noisy toys, watching Disney movies and cartoons, listening to music, and watching coloured lights.

He is unable to mobilise but has the use of a wheelchair which gives him the independence to move freely around his home.

At times, he can display behaviours that challenge and due to this, our ideal candidate will have experience working with children and be able to manage these behaviours accordingly. This could be via the use of distraction techniques and re-assurance.

Our service user has specifically requested for female staff to work on their team.

Essential Experience Required

  • 3 months previous care experience
  • Medication Administration
  • Personal Care
  • Moving and Handling
  • Children's experience

Desirable Experience

  • Epilepsy Awareness
  • Oxygen Management
  • Oral Suctioning

We have the following shifts available;

  • Part Time Days
  • 8am - 4pm
  • 3 days per week

Take a look at our pay rates

Weekdays £13.50 per hour (approximately £108 per 8 hour shift)

Saturday £14.50 per hour (approximately £116 per 8 hour shift)

Sunday £15.00 per hour (approximately £120 per 8 hour shift)

Bank Holiday £17.50 per hour (approximately £140 per 8 hour shift)

This is a personally rewarding role where you can build on your clinical skills and experience, whilst delivering exceptional care and support to our service user and really making an impact on his day to day life.

Apollo Home Healthcare is an equal opportunity employer and we advertise a high volume of vacancies on behalf of our clients.

Due to the nature of the vacancies we recruit for, our clients have the right to request whether they wish for female or male staff to work on their team.

These specific requirements do not reflect the views of our organisation.

Why work for Apollo Home Healthcare?

We specialise in the provision of highly complex clinical care services delivered in the homes of service users.

We are passionate about delivering the highest standard of care and we recognise that our Nurses, Healthcare Assistants and Support Workers are integral to doing this. In return for your hard work and dedication you will receive:
