Full-Time Central Manchester – Office Based Role
Salary unto £40k dependant on experience.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Menswear Designer specialising in lifestyle, men’s streetwear, or sportswear to join our creative team. As a senior member of the design department, you will play a pivotal role in conceptualising, creating, and executing innovative designs that resonate with our target market. Your expertise in menswear fashion trends and understanding of the lifestyle, streetwear, and sportswear markets will contribute to our brand’s success and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Design Development: Lead the design process from conceptualisation to final product, ensuring the alignment with the brand’s vision and target audience.
- Trend Research: Stay updated on the latest menswear trends, lifestyle influences, streetwear aesthetics, and sportswear innovations. Translate these trends into innovative design concepts.
- Collection Planning: Collaborate with the design team, product managers, and directors to plan and develop cohesive menswear collections that align with the brand’s image and business objectives.
- Create detailed CAD drawings, technical drawings, and illustrations to communicate design ideas, garment construction, and specifications to the production team.
- Fabric and Trim Selection: Collaborate with the internal team to identify and select appropriate fabrics, trims, and materials that align with the design vision, quality standards, and target price points.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including merchandising, production, and marketing, to ensure successful product launches and brand consistency.
- Market Analysis: Analyse sales data, customer feedback, and market trends to identify opportunities for improvement and new design directions.
- Must have previous experience of managing a team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- Proven experience as a menswear designer, specialising in lifestyle, men’s streetwear, or sportswear.
- Strong portfolio showcasing original design concepts, technical skills, and an understanding of market trends.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of menswear fashion trends, lifestyle influences, streetwear aesthetics, and sportswear innovations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work within a cross-functional team.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing design needs and market demands.
