Nursery Assistant

Are you passionate about caring for children? We're looking for Nursery Assistants to join our team!

If you want to make a difference to children's lives and help them get ahead, we're interested in you! You will be based in a room caring for children and supporting them as they learn, play and grow, alongside qualified members of our team.

We have two sites: Alpha Kindergarten Stanground (273 Coneygree Road, Peterborough, PE2 8LR) and Alpha Kindergarten Fletton (66 Fletton Avenue, Peterborough, PE2 8AU).

You'll be working across both of our nurseries in Peterborough, helping to cover staffing requirements. This will give you the opportunity to work with a range of age groups, in a range of environments and expand your knowledge of childcare.

This role is suitable for individuals who have worked with children before but do not have formal childcare qualifications. We will help you to gain the knowledge you need to excel, with training in areas like safeguarding.

This is a zero hours, bank staff role. You will help us to cover staffing as required across our Peterborough sites.

Your day to day responsibilities in this role will include:

• Supported supervision of children aged 0-8.
• Supervising and monitoring the safety of the children.
• Feeding and changing the children, as needed.
• Planning day to day activities.
• Building strong relationships with parents.
• Keeping records of children’s progress, routines, and interests.

Desired Skills

• Previous experience working with children would be beneficial.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to communicate on a variety of levels; between parents, children and colleagues.
• Willingness to learn.
• Flexibility and willingness to work in different settings as required.
