Position Overview & Specifications

We are looking for a Receptionist to join our team. You'll be responsible for managing the Allwyn Watford Reception Function.
We’re now excited to start a new chapter of our success story. Allwyn has been selected by the Gambling Commission as the Preferred Applicant to be the operator of the National Lottery for the Fourth Licence, starting on 1 February 2024.
We have an ambitious vision for the UK’s National Lottery. Over the next two years we’ll be building a team of experts to deliver a fresh look and feel for the lottery, to drive growth, and to create a better society. This fast-paced, delivery-focused project team will be made up of talented people from a variety of disciplines and best-in-class partner organisations to prepare for the scale of this transformation, supported by experienced colleagues at Allwyn UK.
At the heart of our strategy is people. Through shared values, expertise, and commitment, we will create change, and build a better world.
We can’t wait to get started on this journey and really power change for the greater good.
You’ll be responsible for:

  • Meeting and greeting all visitors to the Watford Office from Reception ensuring an appropriate welcome on arrival and ensuring preparation of meetings rooms and facilities in advance of all meetings;
  • Arranging travel for the Exec Team, ensuring appropriate Visas, Covid travel requirements etc. are obtained;
  • Occasional help to prepare materials for meetings, including agendas, and presentations and including to support the Facilities Co-ordinator when needed
  • Ensuring all incoming telephone calls, post and e-mails are dealt with professionally and efficiently and any, within remit, handled at source or redirected, as appropriate
  • Providing administrative support to other executive team members as and when needed including any other ad hoc duties and administrative support as may be required from time to time.
  • Ensuring good working relationships with other staff to ensure open dialogue and support as and when needed and to support the Facilities Co-ordinator when needed.

What we are looking for:

  • Proven track record as a receptionist
  • A professional and friendly manner and the ability to deal with customers, suppliers and colleagues both over the phone and face to face;
  • Flexible in approach to role requirements
  • Ability to multitask whilst remaining calm and work well under pressure, prioritising tasks and workload and managing conflicting demands
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff across the organisation;
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills;

Our Benefits:

  • 20% Transition Bonus payable at the end of the transition phase subject to scheme rules
  • 33 days paid leave. (Includes Bank Holidays)
  • 4x Life Insurance
  • 4.5% Pension
  • Single Private Health cover
  • 25 Days Annual Leave (plus Bank Holidays)
  • £500 Annual Wellness Allowance
  • £100 one-off Working from Home Allowance

Making a Difference:
Our goal is to create one of the UK’s most inclusive organisations – where people can bring the best of themselves, to do their best work, every day, for the benefit of good causes.
While the main contribution of the National Lottery to society is through the funds to good causes, at Allwyn we put our purpose and values at the heart of everything we do.
That’s why we have committed to an ambitious Social Value strategy, which is woven into the way we do business. We believe that lotteries must serve everyone, not just those who play. So, whether as an employee, a supplier, a retailer or any of the stakeholders that we interact with, we will be powering good across the UK.
