Maintenance Fitter

We are looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join our Maintenance Team who provide services to ensure consistent operation of all plant and machinery. The role will be based at our site on Stanley Way, Skelmersdale and is to start immediately.

Ideal candidate will be:

• Experienced in working within a fast paced, demanding manufacturing environment
• Experienced in developing winning teams
• Able to work effectively, both as part of a team and autonomously, consistently to high standards of accuracy and quality
• An effective communicator
• Qualified with a formal electrical qualification
• Qualified at HNC level or equivalent, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering discipline

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Provide mechanical and electrical cover to provide maintenance in line with production requirements.
• Ensure strict compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures.
• Conduct maintenance on equipment and machinery in a safe manner, always adhering to Health and Safety legislation.
• Adhere to all safe systems of work, including isolation and lockout procedures.
• Trouble shoot and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment in accordance with relevant Preventative Maintenance documentation.
• Housekeeping and maintaining this to the highest standard.
• Participate in developing the manufacturing units activities, e.g. working practices, equipment specifications, improvements in productivity and quality.
• Efficient in timely repair and re-instalment of equipment in breakdown situations
