Position Overview & Specifications
We are looking for a talented and creative Website Designer & Developer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, coding, and modifying websites, from layout to function, according to our clients' specifications. You will primarily work with WordPress. You must attend the office at least once per week and whenever client meetings and projects require your presence.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop high-quality Wordpress websites that meet our clients' needs
- Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements and make appropriate design recommendations
- Create website layouts, user interfaces, and graphics that are visually appealing and user-friendly
- Write and test website code in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other programming languages
- Optimise website performance for speed and scalability
- Ensure website security by implementing best practices for data protection and privacy
- Update and maintain websites as needed to ensure they are up-to-date and fully functional
- Design and implement marketing emails
- Design marketing graphics to support our digital marketing teams campaigns
- Assist our BigCommerce development team (no previous experience needed)
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in web design and development
Desired Skills & Experience:
3+ years of experience in website design and development
- Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other web programming languages
- Experience with responsive design and mobile-first development
- Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative software, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
- Ideally have knowledge of web development frameworks such as React, Vue, or Angular
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
