Position Overview & Specifications

Role Introduction

Responsibilities will include translation of the UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application. You will work with the UI/UX designer / Senior Front-End Developer and bridge the gap between design and technical implementation.

What You Will Do

  • Collaborating with back-end developers and UI/UX designers to develop fully responsive front-end interfaces
  • Creating self-contained, testable, and re-usable UI modules and components using Vue.js
  • Maintain high accessibility scores throughout the application
  • Ensuring the user interfaces developed work cross-device, cross-platform and cross-browser
  • Monitor and debug any JS errors flagged from our logs
  • Optimise loading performance throughout the application

What You Will Have

  • Expert/ Must have

    • Keen eye for detail
    • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
    • Basic understanding of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
    • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, such as jQuery, Vue.js, ReactJS etc
    • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
    • Proficient understanding of CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap.
    • Basic understanding of package managers, such as NPM or Yarn.
    • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git.
    • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively


    Working knowledge

    • Familiarity with testing frameworks such as Jest or Cypress.
    • OWASP security principles
    • Accessibility Standards such as W3C WCAG Level AA
    • Building reusable code and libraries for future use
    • JS build tooling such as webpack


    Added advantage / Good to have:

    • Experience with Backbone.js and Service Worker API
    • An eye for layout and design with an interest in UX
    • Understanding of cross-browsers compatibility issues and ways to work around them
    • Experience working in a PHP environment such as Laravel or Codeigniter
    • Experience working with Node.js
    • Knowledge and use of performance testing tools
