Temp Fire Watcher/ Site Operative

ABP in Perth are currently looking to recruit a Temporary person as a fire watcher to help support and provide fire watch cover while hot work is taking place on site and general support to the Development team while the current expansion and development project is ongoing.

THIS ROLE IS TEMPORARY FOR UP TO 6 WEEKS.

Provide surveillance of areas where \\\\\\\"hot work\\\\\\\", such as welding, grinding or cutting with torches, is occurring.
To follow the safe working procedure for the role as per training
General maintenance and tidying of the working areas
To sound the alarm if there is an emergency while hot work is going on
Ensure an understanding of standards required before commencing tasks
To report any problems to the Engineering Manager
Liaise and communicate effectively with colleagues and other departments and work as a team at all times
Follow good standards of safety in all aspects of your work at all times
To maintain a good standard of housekeeping at all times
To adhere to Company hygiene standards at all times
To ensure that you comply with the Company Health and Safety policy at all times
Any other duties as required

The successful candidate should have previous experience on a construction site, strong communication skills, excellent attention to detail and an ability to use their own initiative. This role will involve a great deal of face to face work with contractors and therefore the role favours someone who is personable and approachable. Experience in a similar role is beneficial but not required as full training will be given.
